Hey everyone, my name's Chris and I'm a first year at MMU. I got the adress for this place at the Freshers Fair on Wednesday (but I completely forgot to sign up to the society -_- ), and I'm hella glad I did, it's been a while since I've been able to talk about Anime so openly without getting called a "Japanime Freak" or whatever, god damn some people...

Anywho, as for the Animes that I'm into at the moment there's Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto, Death Note and Code Geass to name a few, but I'm also quite willing to read the Manga aswell (as far is Pokemon is concerned, I'll ONLY read the Manga and won't even look at the Anime...). The only thing I really don't watch as far as Anime is concerned is the fully blown Hentai stuff and anything subbed, I can't stand having to read the subs despite the fact that a character is speaking anyway.

Soooo yeah, there's an introduction, there wouldn't happen to be a way that I could sign up to the society via this website would there?

I respect your opinion, make sure the guys in charge know. There seems to be a running concensus that dubs are bad, and I don't fully agree. Obviously, we've just opened a huge barrel of fish regarding this long standing debate, and I hope it will be given consideration.

If you log in using your uni details a join button will pop up. Its pretty simple from there, otherwise, you could probably just turn up. I think the flyer suggests something along those lines.

Some dubs are bad (Insert Gundam 00) some are quite good but ive noticed that dubs don't seem to get the dramatic scenes over very well example:

i just got really annoyed with the 00 dub the whole issue is that Japanese is Japanese English is English so when they say Lock-on is Irish I expect at least an Irish voice actor for the dub Razz

is that too much to ask ^^

Its a pretty safe bet that if Crispin Freeman is in it, it'll be fine.
I mean look at that list. Hideki, Togusa, Alucard, Shizuo, Itachi, Rude, Regal. The guys a badass, and I swear he is in everything i've ever watched dubbed, or played ever. Also can you imagine Hideki with the same voice as Alucard? Haha! ^_^

I'm not going to say anything on the dub cast for Gundam 00 I ~~liked~~ loved the original seiyu line-up most of them are in my top 10 favourite seiyu...

Crispin Freeman, I don't like the fact that he voices Itachi in the dubbed version of Naruto I love the original seiyu for Itachi (Hideo Ishikawa) and don't get me started on why he won't be able to do Shizuo the list is too damn long.

But then again people are free to ignore the idiotic rambling of a crazy seiyu fangirl I don't mind.

Given i am going to watch gundam for the first time, is 00 a good series to start on??
I couldn't hand naruto dubbed, bleach maybe depending on the mood.

well era wise the UC era is the best to start with although if you prefer new gen or old gen gundams for me Nothing beats the U.C era of gundam Smile

I don't mind the UC era of Gundam but for me and my personal recommendation would be Gundam 00 or as I and my friend call it now Gundam 00-Uke there's a reason behind the logic of us calling it that but I won't go into it as I will be fangirling too damn much hahaha...
